Radar laser detectors & GPS navigation systems are some easy ways to improve your driving experience. A radar detector gives you easy peace of mind by monitoring the surrounding area for any police radar which could easily cost you a few hundred bucks & points on your license. A GPS navigation systems saves you the hassle of getting lost easily & having to navigate complex roads in big cities or unknown dirt roads where one could easily lose their way.

Radar Laser Detectors

A radar detector works by catching any police radar which may close to your vehicle. It quickly identifies the threat & alerts you with a beep or other warning noise. The main difference between a cheaper radar system & a more high end radar is the risk of false alarm.

Cheaper, lower quality detectors will produce more false alarms caused by other signals, while higher quality detectors will more easily be able to pinpoint threats from an officer’s radar gun. While we don’t advocate speeding, it’s nice to have the peace of mind that you’re going to be warned just in case you are driving over the limit, as many people do.

GPS Navigation Systems

A GPS navigation system can be a great tool for drivers of all skill & experience levels. Many people in the United States waste a significant amount of gas (& gas is money as we all know) per year driving around looking for places or getting lost. A gps system will help you find your way much more quickly, saving you time, aggravation, money & most importantly, wear & tear on your vehicle.

Now listen carefully, if you’re ready to be able to drive as fast as you like & worry free, take two minutes to visit Phantom Alert, your #1 source for radar detectors, GPS devices & much more. The best part is Phantom Alert is having a huge discount on all their products right now, Click Here to get the discounted prices!

You have come to this article to determine if it is worth the money to buy a laser/radar detector. For many people out there they think that they can just keep an eye out and they will be fine. However, from personal experience that will not always work. I have done just that and to my great suprise I ended up with a ticket. The problem with trying to “look out” for cops is that you are eventually going to get distracted or slip up. And even if you say you don’t speed there are still going to be those times where you unknowingly go a little bit fast.

The fact of the matter is that you are going to get yourself into a position where you can be pulled over and given a ticket. Lets just hope there are no cops around to give you one. That is more likely with the economy in the position that it is and cities struggling with money the police force is getting more nosie and strict when it comes to speeding. There are a lot more cops on the road in most places and they are looking for some much needed money for the state.

Now, the benefits of getting a laser/radar detector are quite numerous. The fist one is that it will save you money and frustration in the long run. The price of some of the top of the line detectors costs $300 roughly. The average ticket costs $130. However you have to take into account the two points that go on your license. Your insurance costs will also go up as well on average $300 every year for three years. That is over $1000 that you have to pay over one ticket. The good thing about laser/radar detectors is that you can move them from car to car and they last just about forever.

If you are ready to put an end to the frustration, head aches, and unwanted costs from tickets take two minutes to visit Phantom Alert, your #1 source for radar detectors, GPS devices & much more. The best part is Phantom Alert is having a huge discount on all their products right now, Click Here to get the discounted prices!

The Brodit 907255 makes using your iPhone easily in the car a reality. Because the iPhone does not have a keypad like other mobile devices, it needs a special holder to be mounted on the dashboard in order to use it properly. Because the multi-touch screen makes it a little more difficult to use in the car, Brodit designed the 907255 specifically so that this mobile device could still be secured to the dashboard and function as it should. Still within easy reach, of course.

The Brodit Active Car Cradle Holder, with tilt swivel function is a high-end car mount from Brodit. It mounts to the dashboard with the Brodit Proclip, and makes the Apple iPhone 3G much easier to use. This is because this car holder swivel and tilts. With the Apple iPhone 3G, you can’t use it if you can’t see the screen. This car holder allows you to tilt and swivel the iphone until you get a screen with no sunlight on it. This means that you can you your iPhone in many more places than if you just had a stationary dashboard cradle. You can also rotate the iPhone in the holder to enable coverflow in landscape mode.

The Brodit 907255 Active Car Cradle Holder also comes with a cig plug approved by apple and made by griffin called a powerjolt, so that it can be charged while driving. This is convenient when you have forgotten to charge your iPhone and need to use it after you are finished driving. Your iPhone will always be charged if you have the ability to charge it in the car and at home.

Unlike some of the other Brodit mounts, there are a few instructions that come with the Brodit 907255. The holder itself is screwed into the tilt swivel attaching plate, but it needs to be adjusted. All you have to do is take a screwdriver and remove the attachment plate and adjust the holder to the desired position. Then the Brodit 907255 is ready to use.

The Brodit 907255 Car Cradle Holder for cable attachment accommodates either charging cables or interface cables. With this model, you can use the cable supplied with the holder, and it automatically charges, or receives information as soon as you set the iPhone in the holder. All iPhone cables can be used with this holder, and with this holder, you don’t have to manually plug in a cable every time you want to charge or use the iPhone. This is a charging holder, and also a model that comes with the tilt swivel feature.

The Brodit 907255, like most Brodit mounts, is attached to the dashboard with the Brodit Proclip. This that won’t slip off the dashboard while you are driving, unlike some other, more flimsily built car holders. The Brodit mounts also grip your iPhone securely, so it also won’t slip out of the holder. The Brodit 907255 is better than other car mounts, because if you decide to get the tilt and swivel models, you will always be able to see the display screen. You can’t use you iphone if it is in direct sunlight, which is why the tilt and swivel feature makes this a superior product.

The Brodit 907255 is superior to other car holders for the iPhones because of the optional tilt and swivel feature. It was specifically designed to make an iPhone work better in your car.

There are a variety of car alarm systems you can choose from to protect your car from being broken in to or stolen. Car alarms are electronic devices setup in or to your car to keep it protected. Some car alarms are built into car when they leave the factory others have to be put in. Many are reasonably priced and do indeed work. They are available at stores such as Best Buy as well as auto shops.

A great car alarm system to have is a kill switch. A kill switch is actually a small switch that you hide somewhere in your car that when you flip it on doesn’t allow gas to get to the car making it inoperable to a thief. The switch is put in a place of your choice and can be installed at auto installation shops. They are reasonably priced and give you the piece of mind that you car will be safe.

A lojack car alarm is great because they give police the best chance of finding your car should it ever be stolen. A lojack is a silent radio transceiver that is hidden in your car that can tell where your car is. The lojack is installed by a lojack technician and once it is installed the unit is linked directly to the lojack database which is connected with the national crime information computer. Should your car ever be stolen you just report it to the police who then go into there computer system and type in your specific number which enables the lojack to send the police the location of your car. Lojack claims to have a 90% recovery rate on stolen vehicles.

An alarm with a remote starter is great because it lets you know whenever your car has been tampered with. At the first sign of someone trying to open the locked door or even just touching the car in some cases a remote that you keep on you will go off and alert you. The alarm will sound from inside the car as well as on the remote you hold with your car keys.

The best car alarm systems will ensure your cars safety especially in areas where car theft is high.

Also, you may find clock radios that have a digital alarm for your car. The alarm is displayed on your aftermarket head unit.

There are a myriad of options available in the market when it comes to car speakers, and buying the right ones may be your biggest problem. So let’s take a look at the different types of car speakers that you can choose from to help you to decide for yourself.

Coaxial Car Speaker System
The most common type of car speakers are called coaxial speakers. Usually most car manufacturers will include at least a pair of coaxial car speakers in their models. Coaxial speakers are available as 2-way-, 3 way and 4-way speakers depending on their configuration or to be more specific the number of tweeters in the system. The most basic version of coaxial speakers, the kind that you would generally find in older cars has mid range cone woofers capable of producing mid range sounds. But the latest versions will also include at least one tweeter for high frequency reproduction. A tweeter is a device that helps your system to reproduce high frequency sounds, minimize sound distortion and gives clearer and more defined sounds. An increase in the number of tweeters will add more details to the sound. So while two way coaxial car speakers have one tweeter, three way speakers would include two tweeters and so on.

Many car manufacturers talk about the amazing effects of the 6 piece car speaker system in their models. But essentially this system just includes 4 mid range woofers with 2 detached tweeters and this is what you would get normally as well when you buy a car. So, if you are being charged extra for this you know you are being cheated.

Component Car Speaker System
A component car speaker system comprises of mid-range woofers, tweeters and cross over filter networks. However, the tweeter in the component car speaker system is separate with the cross over filters added for increased sound clarity. The filters channel sounds that are component specific that is only a sound range that can be handled by a specific component is channeled to it. For example, only high frequency sounds will be channeled to the tweeters that are capable of handling them while the low frequency sounds are channeled to the mid-range woofers. This significantly improves the sound quality by minimizing disruptions and distortions.

If you were to compare the two car speaker systems, namely coaxial and component, in terms of their price, the component car speaker systems are considerably more expensive. But the better sound quality makes up for the increased cost. Generally a three way component car speaker system is more than adequate to produce impressive sound quality. Since most new cars come with pre-installed or factory installed car speakers you may want to check if they have the cross over filters.

The material of the car speaker components is of equal importance if you want the speakers to last for long. Usually cones are either made of the thinner materials like cloth or paper or they are made of denser materials like glass, fiber, Kevlar or polypropylene. However, it would be incorrect to suggest that the material of the cone is the only thing responsible for better sound quality. The quality of the sound produced by the car speakers depends more on the entire assembly that includes the magnet size, voice coil type etc.

As far as surrounding material for your car speakers is concerned it is best to go for denser material since the cheaper varieties usually use foam that cracks easily when subjected to temperature variations.

Ultimately, the type of car speakers that you choose should depend on the sound quality that you require.

The iPod has genuinely revolutionised the way in which we listen to music on the go. The joy of this system, and of comparable MP3 players, is that it allows us to place music on a small player which we carry around with us, and call on any track from our collection at a second’s notice. Sure, there is not much work involved in changing a CD anyway, but when it comes to user-friendly music players, the MP3 has changed things comprehensively. Depending on the age and the cost of your MP3, you can have literally thousands of tracks available at the touch of a button, something that makes listening to music ever more convenient. And with technological minds constantly innovating, it was never going to be long before something was developed to free us from the headphones.

IPod docking stations in cars were an inevitability from the moment the iPod itself was invented. They allow us to hook up our MP3 player to our in-car sound system and play our music collection through our car speakers – allowing us to combine the jukebox-style range and convenience of music choice of an iPod with the volume and sound quality of a car sound system. Any one of thousands of songs can be pumping out of your speakers within seconds of you deciding you want to hear it. Sure, it may not be quite in line with the old ways, of sticking on FM radio and allowing someone else to soundtrack your road trip, but MP3’s convenience allows you to set your own playlist for your own planned route.

MP3 connectivity to your car stereo system works in any one of a number of ways. You can choose to hook the iPod directly to your car stereo, if your car is new enough. Most cars rolling off production lines today have already been designed to be compatible with iPods, due to the undeniable popularity of the MP3 player as a way of listening to music on the go. If you are lucky enough to have a new car it is generally a matter of popping your iPod into the docking station and driving off, merrily changing tracks by way of a console which directly mirrors your iPod’s click wheel.

If you have an older car, though, there is no need to despair. Systems are being created all the time that increase the iPod’s backwards compatibility. Some of these involve plugging the system directly into your existing car stereo. This depends very much on your stereo having an auxiliary input jack, and not all stereos have this. In such cases it may be necessary to hook your iPod up to the in-car cassette or to a small portable FM transmitter. One way or the other, the iPod will work with pretty much any in-car sound system as long as you do not mind hooking up a few extra bits of kit. The newer the systems the better, of course, as the newer systems allow the player to constantly recharge during long car trips.

Almost everybody knows the rule of 10 when it comes to word of mouth.

The happy customer tells one person while the dissatisfied customer will let 10 people know about the bad service they have received.

Nowhere else in the field of ecommerce is this more important than when trading car DVD players. The average car stereo DVD doesn’t only attract the person who wants to do the car DVD installation itself, it also involves a whole lot of specific data which plays an important part in how well the car DVD player will work in the car.

It’s too late to tell the customer in responses to their questions after they have bought the car DVD from you. You need to give them the right information before they even think about making a purchase.

**So what exactly do you NEED to tell customers before they even make a decision about buying a car DVD from you?**

It is absolutely essential that you cover the following things in your listing:
The file formats and discs it plays
The exact size of the player
The condition of the player
The TV signals it is compatible with
The inputs and outputs it has
The voltage the car DVD operates in

So why do you need to list these things and exactly how do you do it?

*The file formats and discs
The days of there being two or three formats and two or three disc types are over. Nowadays people expect the car DVD to be able to handle CD-R CD-RW and VCD discs.

The formats the in car DVD handles are important too, especially with the increased number of people downloading material from the internet and sharing files.

List each disc type separately and separate out video, audio and picture formats to make it clear to your potential customers what the automotive DVD can do and what it can’t do.

A good example might be:
Discs: DVD, CD, VCD
Formats Played:
- Video Formats: AVI, DIVX
- Audio Formats: MP3, WMA
- Picture Formats: JPEG, GIF

*The exact size of the player
A common misconception about the car DVD player is that it just comes in two sizes: 1 DIN and 2 DIN.

In fact, the Deutsches Institut für Normung system just refers to the width and height of the unit and the depth of a player can vary a great deal. Not only that but some car DVDs have an extremely large face plate which could obstruct/be obstructed by other elements in the dash.

As a result it is always a good idea to list exactly what the dimensions are for everything on the player
A good example might be:
Dimensions: L:162 x W:178 x H:100 (mm): Length with front panel = 181 (mm)

*The condition of the player
Are you selling a new car DVD player? Is it reconditioned? Does it have any cosmetic damage?

These are not only vital pieces of information which could mean the difference between happy customers and angry customers they can actually get you kicked off many online auction sites if you get them wrong.

*The TV signals it is compatible with
TV functionality is an important feature for many people who have automotive dvd players because many people fit it in their car to A ensure they don’t miss their favorite shows, B put on the TV to keep the passengers in the back entertained.

However different regions in the world use different TV signals with some using analog signals like PAL, NTSC or SECAM and others making the switch to digital with signals like DVB, ATSC and ISDB.

If you say that the DVD player for the car can play TV signals and the customer has to ask which signals it takes you’ve probably already lost the sale.

A good example might be:
DVB-T Digital TV
- Country presets for England, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Portugal, Greece, Russia, Czech Republic, Taiwan, China, Holland, Australia

*The Inputs And Outputs It Has
The car DVD player is more than a glorified stereo that just shows movies these days. It is a hub which can accept information from peoples iPods, USB sticks or SD cards; help people reverse safer, and – in the case of in dash car DVD players – feed video and sound footage to screens and speakers in the back of the car.

As a result you must tell people what they can plug in and what feeds go out so they know exactly what type of hub they are getting.

A good way to show this is as follows:
Media Inputs / Outputs
- SD/MMC card slot for GPS SD card or SD card with media files
- DVD/CD disc drive
- iPod input (front)
- Mini-USB input (front)
- Aux IN (front)
- Reverse camera input (rear)

*The Voltage The Car DVD Player Operates In
This is more important for older cars (especially diesel cars) but not all cars work on the same voltage. Some were 24 volts while others were 12. Nowadays all new models of cars come out in 12 volts which make things nice and easy for car DVD installation.

However putting the voltage the DVD player for the car operates in is important as not doing so could result in a short, which would lead to your customers’ brand new automotive DVD not working at all, or working at a lower voltage and not working as well as it should.

Only by giving customers the information they need in your listing will you be able t o guarantee a happy customer at the end of the day.

In this way your popularity will be increased as a seller and more customers will be attracted to your listings.

Car mobile multimedia, DVD and video players present vast varieties of entertainment systems obtainable for contemporary automobiles. Gone are the days when car stereos were the in-thing, thanks to the surround sound alternatives and video capabilities inclusive of DVD-Audio and Video. Car owners can buy a DVD for their car as an additional accessory for entertainment purposes. There are different kinds of DVDs that one can find in the market each with its individual outstanding features making it stand out from the others. Ensure that you conduct a proper research on the kind of DVD players on the market. Find out their advantages and disadvantages. To aid in such a research, check the various online sites that offer the needed information. The information that one can get from various websites includes the prices of the DVDs, where to purchase them from and the features of each type of DVD. In addition, the player can be purchased online by clicking on the site of the sellers, selecting the car DVD category and finally choosing the desired kind of DVD.

Before purchasing the car DVD player, ensure that the heading and the description of the DVD matches the one that is desired. Read through the features of the players available online in order to determine which one best suits you. Take time to compare the various prices offered for the players in relation to the qualities and features of each. In addition, read the customer reviews that may be included in the web pages to see what the pros and cons of a particular type of player are. Information on the different kinds of players can be obtained from other persons who have purchased this car accessory. Make inquiries on the most affordable yet quality kinds of players as well as where to purchase them.

Add-ons that are bought with the DVD accessories should also be considered when shopping for a car DVD player. The budget that one comes up with should include any additional costs such as the cost of add-ons on the DVD player. Other costs such as the shipping costs should be considered where the purchase is done online since the cost of the player most often is given separate from the shipping costs. The cost will be determined by the mode of shipping that you select for the delivery of the DVD player. Ensure that the site has a return policy which should be read in order to have recourse in the case where the player turns out to be incompatible with their car or faulty.

Once the budget for buying the car DVD has been set, it is prudent that the buyer goes shopping in their local stores as well in order to compare the various price offers available to them both online and in the mortar and brick stores. In this way, buyers will be in a position to know the price ranges of the different kinds of players available as well as their specifications. Buyers will also have an excellent bargaining power for lower prices DVD players. Most vehicles have the factory installed DVDs. To make the player purchased look like it was factory installed, one may have to obtain the skill of installing the player once it has been purchased. A word of advice; when purchasing a car DVD player, ensure everything needed to make the system complete is purchased. In addition, bear in mind that terminologies vary from one manufacturer to another therefore; be cautious to select the right car dvd player.

What is a radar detector? It is an electronic device that tips a motorist off if radar equipment, as used by the police for example is anywhere in the vicinity. The object of the exercise is therefore to avoid radar traps and therefore speeding tickets.

The radar guns used by law enforcement officers is used to measure the speed of a moving vehicle or object, relative to a fixed point. There are two core components to the radar detector, a transmitter which sends out a radar signal, and a receiver which collects returning data.

In its simplest sense, radar is used to work out the distance of one object from another. It stands to reason therefore that if the distance of a moving object can be recorded twice, and the distance moved by the object, the speed of that object can be easily calculated.

A radar detector can locate police radar guns with a basic radio receiver. More sophisticated detectors also have a transmitter as well as a receiver, which can effectively jam the radio waves of the radar guns, confusing the data that is returned to the police equipment.

Technology has moved forwards to try and beat the radar jammers, using laser technology. Instead of using radio waves, laser guns use concentrated light beams to detect speed and movement. Because light travels so much faster, the offending vehicle is often detected before the detection equipment has discovered it is being recorded. Not to be out done, laser detectors have been created in order to jam laser guns as well. The technique used is similar to that used for radio jammers.

At the end of the day, you pay your money and then you make your choice as to the best system available for what you can afford. The more expensive systems will offer you a wider range of protection, but you have to pay a premium for the privilege.

Discover the best in radar detectors and find out how to get out of a speeding ticket as well.
