Smart repairs are a mobile car body repair service which comes to your home or place of work in order to carry out automotive body repairs. The types of repair that can be repaired by this service are: bumper scuff repairs, key scratch repairs, dent repairs, alloy wheel repairs and stone chip repairs. One of the main advantages of this type of service is that they have the ability to spray the damage and not the entire car panel; this basically means they can blend the paint in on small areas which allows the repairable area to remain small. With this advantage you are not just restricted to the automotive sector and the process of mobile smart repairs can be applied to other fields and industries that require any form of small paint repairs.

One type of industry in which the smart repair process is currently in use is within window frame fitting and manufacture. When in manufacture or fitting of the plastic window frames it’s easy to chip or scratch the plastic and when this happens it’s either replacing the entire frame or using a smart repair service to fill and re-spray the chip, which is a hell of a lot cheaper.

Smart repairs are also used to spray small chips and scratches on garage doors for fitters and manufactures of such goods, for like the window manufactures are susceptible to the occasional knock.

These are just some of the industries that smart repairs have been used in, basically if there is a chip or scratch on any type of goods that requires repainting, as long as you can get the colour, smart repairs can be used to repair the damage.

What makes a great auto repair shop?

To several individuals, cars are an absolute necessity; without them, they reckon, how would they get anything done ? But car ownership entails a lot more than driving it to work or the store each day. It also means keeping an eye on the automobile, and getting any problems fixed as soon as possible. But how can one locate a great auto repair shop, and what should they look for?

An appealing automotive repair store ought to provide a number of diverse services. Some would question why this matters, but the fact of the matter is it can easily be to your advantage. While having the oil changed, you may also have the car tires winterized at the same time. If the vehicle has a dent, the windshield wipers could also be given proper treatment. When you can get several things carried out at the same time, it saves the trouble of driving to a number of different places. In the end, this could save cash, too.

One ought to also look at a repair store that has superb client service. It can be quite upsetting when something is faulty with the vehicle; finding a problem in the middle of the night on the highway, for example, is a situation nobody would want. Because of the worry that comes along with it, it is crucial that you find a repair store that can take care of the problem with care. There is no need to bring any more drama out into the open, and any shop that would do so should be averted at all costs.

Their waiting rooms ought to not appear as though someone took a baseball bat to all the items inside. This can be an clue that they are careless, sloppy and not likely to do acceptable work. Should you come across a location like this, leave as soon as possible, taking your vehicle with you.

Honesty is possibly the most essential thing of all. Especially for those with modest budgets, substantial prices for replacements and repairs may be devastating. You should never need to pay more than the job is actually worth; unfortunately, some companies enjoy overcharging their clients, placing the extra cash in their own pockets. Make sure that noone is adding extra jobs that don’t have to be carried out before utilizing their shop.

On your quest for an excellent vehicle repair store, why not give Dave’s Ultimate Automotive a look? At Dave’s, you are assured a nice experience, with no strings attached. There is no reason to be concerned that you shall be overcharged, or that there will be any bizarre sights or smells inside the waiting room. Place yourself in professional hands and rest easy; there are reliable shops among the sketchy ones.

The Plymouth division was created by Chrysler in 1928. The original emblem featured a view of the Mayflower landing at Plymouth Rock, however the name was actually chosen for the Plymouth Binder twine, which was quite popular with farmers, one of the segments of the population Chrysler was hoping to attract. Early in the history of Chrysler, of which Plymouth is a division, the founder of Chrysler Corporation Walter P. Chrysler had taken control of the financially ailing Maxwell-Chalmers car company.

The Maxwell automobile was a part of this package. In a stroke of genius, Chrysler decided to put the Maxwell car to good use. He had been toying with the idea of creating an economy class of vehicles with very attractive priced. The Maxwell car fit in with this plan. The car was soon reworked and renamed the Chrysler 52 model. The low-end market had been previously dominated by Chevrolet and Ford.

While Plymouth vehicles were priced slightly higher than other brands in the same division, the beauty of a Plymouth was that it offered as standard features, its competition lacked. Expanding hydraulic brakes were of these standard features. Consumers at that time felt that stopping the car efficiently was a feature worth paying for!

The Plymouth division was a hit with buyers from the outset; however, it had yet to prove its real worth. This importance would become very apparent entering the 1930’s. It was the Plymouth line up that allowed Chrysler to survive the Great Depression and the period immediately after when so many car manufacturers of the time went under.

The forties and fifties were good years for Plymouth. The cars had a reputation for durability, affordability and engineering. The company offered stiff competition for both Chevrolet and Ford. The design department for Chrysler’s economy division came up with a forward-looking theme and the advanced styling they engineered was very popular with consumers.

Unfortunately, the sixties were not as kind as the earlier decade had been and Plymouth saw its share of the market quickly eroded. Matters were made when the Plymouth was forced to compete against Dodge, another of Chrysler’s divisions. Dodge also marketed lower priced cars, particularly the Dodge Dart. The Dart was had a slant six engine that was incredibly reliable and Plymouth had a difficult time competing. The sixties began a downward spiral that the once popular division would never fully recover.

Through the seventies and eighties, the brand did launch some popular selling vehicles such as the 1981 Reliant and the 1984 Voyager. For a while, it did appear that Plymouth would be able to pull out its slump and turn things around. As the eighties gave way to the nineties however, it was clear that Plymouth was losing more and more of its share of the market to the likes of Pontiac and even Dodge.

The merger between Chrysler and Daimler- Benz proved to be the deathblow for Plymouth. When Daimler began to look at ways to improve sales in the United States market it was clear that either the Plymouth brand or Dodge would have to go. Plymouth did not have any unique models than were not available in other types of Chryslers or Dodges. In addition, while Plymouth dealers sold other types of Chryslers, many Dodge dealerships sold only Dodges. It was this fact that prompted Daimler to give Plymouth the axe. After many long years in the car business, the Plymouth line was officially discontinued in 2001.

Volvo is a Swedish car manufacture that was founded in 1927. Because Sweden is known to produce high quality iron ore, company founders chose to use the ancient sign for ore as the company logo. The circle and arrow, the sign of mars is also considered to symbolize iron. Both symbols were incorporated and registered as Volvo trademarks.

Volvo has earned several distinctive reputations over the years; probably one of the best is the one it has earned for safety. Volvo engineers have come up with several innovative safety features that have eventually been adopted by most car manufacturers around the world. The concept for safety glass belongs to Volvo. In 1944, laminated glass was introduced in the PV Volvo. By 1958, another standard safety features was introduced by Volvo engineer Nils Bohlin who invented and patented the modern three-point safety belt. This was a standard feature in all Volvo’s by 1959. The company produced cars with the first padded dashboards including them in the 1956 version of the Amazon. The next safety feature pioneered by Volvo was the first rear facing child safety seat in 1964 and introduced the booster seat for children too big for the car seat but still small enough to slip out of the seat belt. The booster seat was introduced in 1978. Safety was a concern for Volvo from its very foundation. Managing director Assar Gabrielsson and Gustav Larson, technical manager were quoted in 1927 as saying, “Cars are driven by people. The guiding principle behind everything we make at Volvo, therefore, is and must remain safety”.

Attention to safety did not stop with car seats either. It was Volvo that designed and implemented what we now know as the high mounted stoplights. The idea that the centrally located light at or slight above the vision of a driver behind a car would be noticed faster than just to taillights mounted on both the right and left rear portions a vehicle. The use of the high mounted stop light on all vehicles market in the United States became a federal mandate for the 1986 model year. Bolbe was also the first to propose and develop the use of airbags. By 1995, Volvo had introduced side airbags and would install them as standard equipment in all Volvos. The first head protection airbags were also designed by Volvo. Testing authorities have proven that side head protection curtain airbags can reduce risk of death in a side impact by up to 40% and brain injury by up to 55%, as well as providing protection in a rollover situation. The BLIS system, which detects vehicles entering the Volvo’s blind spot with side view mirror mounted systems, was introduced in 2004.

Volvo’s attention to safety is one of the most compelling reasons family list when choosing Volvo over other models. During the seventies and eighties Volvo did some slippage in sales due in part to a boxy outdated design. Designers within Volvo went to work on correcting these images.

The Peugeot Family has been in business in some form or another since the seventeen hundreds. From the production of coffee to bicycles in the early part of the twentieth century, automobiles would be the next big thing to come along.

The company produced its first automobile in 1889. The car was steam powered and had three wheels. However, steam proved to be unwieldy and cumbersome for use in any personal passenger vehicles. After meeting with Gottlieb Daimler, Armand Peugeot decided that the gasoline internal combustion engine was much more suited to what he had in mind. Peugeot acquired a license from Daimler to use their engines in Peugeot vehicles. Cars produced by the French company would remain powered by Daimler engines until the first Peugeot engines were developed in 1896.

Just as it had always been, Peugeot continued to produce a variety of products up through the turn of the twentieth century when Armand Peugeot formed his own company to focus exclusively on automobile manufacturing.

Peugeot would become an early influence on car racing in Europe and would remain a power in this arena for years to come. Around the time of World War 1, Armand decided to try his handed at motorcycles. His family had longed produced some of the finest bicycles in Europe. Armand was just as successful at motorcycles as his family had been with bicycles and the Peugeot Auto Company has produced motorcycles every since.

Once Europe became embroiled in World War I, Peugeot, just as most other manufacturers of the time, turned their attention to the war efforts. They eventually became a major manufacturer of arms and military vehicles throughout the remainder of the war. Once the allies were victorious, the focus once again turned to car production.

The French car company entered the United States market in 1958 with the Peugeot 404. Peugeot was never able to find its niche in American society and for the most part consumers simply ignored the brand. After several attempts to pique the curiosity of the American car buyer, Peugeot decided to cut its losses and withdrew from the American market. This did not exclude the company from going after American car manufacturers in Europe, however. In 1978, the company took over Chrysler Europe. Chrysler Corporation was suffering from heavy financial losses both at home and abroad and accepted the offer to take the ailing division off its hands almost immediately. Earlier in 1974, Peugeot had also acquired Citroen and for a brief period had interest in Maserati as well. The acquisition of so much debt so quickly proved nearly to be the undoing of Peugeot in the early eighties. The introduction of the popular Peugeot 205 was credited with the company’s recovery from the brink of financial ruin. While the 205 was able to save the company from complete collapse, Peugeot was still experiencing some financial stress.

For the future, Peugeot has announced a goal of selling 4 million units annually. In order to accomplish this, the French car manufacturer has plans of pursuing some of the more exotic markets in the world such as China, Russia and South America. Due to the weakening of the U.S. Dollar, there has been some talk of a return to the American market. At this point, that may well be speculation only.
