The oil in your turbo diesel has enough work to do and when you add the job of cooling the turbo too things can get hot in a hurry. This is why it’s critical to choose the proper diesel oil that can do the job. In general motor oil quality has gone up the past 10 years, but there are still a few indicators that could point you to the better oils on the market.

When comparing oils it’s really not a matter of comparing petroleum vs. synthetic anymore because since synthetics have grabbed the attention of most people it really isn’t worth looking at petroleum oils anymore. Petroleum oils simply can’t handle the demands of today’s engines especially diesels with their hot running turbo’s.

Most mechanics don’t really know a lot about how and why certain oils outperform others. Sometimes asking a mechanic isn’t where you should be seeking advice. Not that some don’t understand the basics, but because most simply haven’t taken the time to learn about oils in general.

The first thing you should ask about your oil is what are the basestocks made from. There are five primary basestocks; the first four relate to petroleum oils and the fifth is considered a pure synthetic.

If you are running a Group II or Group III basestocks you’re running petroleum oil even though in some cases the label might say it’s a synthetic oil. This is why it’s critical to ask what the basestock is made of. Pay no attention to what the label says, if it’s a group IV you will certainly see a difference in the performance the very first time you use it.

Although high quality synthetics cost a bit more than petroleum oils they do have distinct advantages like: Longer Drain Intervals, Cooler Running Turbo’s and extended engine life. When it comes down to money why would anyone consider price when shopping for what is probably the most important link to keeping your vehicle in the best possible condition.

There are a limited number of Group IV PAO based synthetics on the market, so careful research is critical when selecting your lubricants. One such lubricant is Amsoil and their foothold in the industry, especially the diesel market, is becoming common place. There are others out there that are close, but can’t quite deliver everything Amsoil does.

Remember, your looking for a group IV base oil as your basestock if it’s not then you can expect lackluster performance from your diesel equipment. Keep your turbo running cooler with a high quality synthetic oil and good luck.

Even if you do have children, you deserve some adult time shelter adult people.
Soon, those fake smiles bequeath turn into the authenticated thing and you will arrest the eye of a superb fellow. Take it slowly, besides realize that dating, especially next a divorce is about break further progression. trained cede be failures. You capability settle your heart bruised, maybe smooth broken a time or two before you get it right. But one shot lesson that your divorce should have taught you is this: you are far stronger than you ever thought possible and you will get through this too, better, stronger besides wiser on the other side.

Your marriage is over. After giving yourself time to heal and to recover, it is time to move on and resume dating. But, what is the best way to go about it? There are different methods for different situations, and no one thing will work universally, but there are some general tips.

If there are children involved, make sure that they are okay with the whole divorce situation before changing anything else. Be aware that dating is a learning process, so proceed with caution before introducing dates to your children. Do not allow an ever changing parade of faces to come and go from your children’s lives. They have had enough upheaval already. Wait until you yourself have gotten a bit more serious with someone before bringing the kids into it. On the other hand, do not ever hide the fact that you have children.

A divorce does more than change the family dynamic. Your relationship with friends will have changed as well. Though they will all deny it, your friends have all drawn battle lines before, during and after the marriage ended. No matter who has remained friends with you, the relationship itself will have changed. Maybe that single friend you have always admired can be something more now that you are single too. Feel uncomfortable with that idea? Then maybe he has other single friends he can introduce you to.

Questioning yourself and your attractiveness is normal after a divorce. Your husband no longer wants you after all, and you might allow yourself to think that no one else will either. Part of the healing process is knowing that your work as a human is not judged by the state of your marriage or the opinion of one man. Things did not work out with a single individual, not the whole gender.

The hardest part of dating after divorce, or of dating in general for that matter, is the first date. One you have made it through that very first date without a lot of emotional scars, the you will know you are on the road to recovery.

Sign up for a class at the community college and get out there meeting people. Before you know it, you will have a whole new circle of friends and potential dates. Get out there and start living your life again. Even if you do have children, you deserve some adult time with adult people. Get a new hair cut or a cute new outfit to signal your rebirth back into the world. Smile as much as you can, even if you have to fake it at first. Soon, those fake smiles will turn into the real thing and you will catch the eye of a nice man. Take it slowly, and realize that dating, especially after a divorce is about learning and growing. There will be failures. You might get your heart bruised, maybe even broken a time or two before you get it right. But one lesson that your divorce should have taught you is this: you are far stronger than you ever thought possible and you will get through this too, better, stronger and wiser on the other side.

It’s official, most of us have actually started to see some real sunshine and summer time is just round the corner. For those of you have had your RV tucked away safe and snug over the winter months it’s time to dust it off and get back out on the road. There are a few things you might want to check over first though:

Check & clean it

Give it a thorough check, both inside and out.

Give the roof a close inspection, especially if it’s spent the winter months braving the elements, clear any leaves and make sure there are no leaks or weak spots. It’s better to spot them now rather than in the middle of an April shower or a summer thunderstorm.

Check all the seals around the windows and doors, if any of them are looking a bit worse for wear, replace the sealant; remember to remove any old sealant before applying a new coat.

Roll the awning out, again check for any leaks, mold, mildew etc.

Check all the safety equipment. Test the smoke alarms, ensure the tags on any fire extinguishers are still in tact, make sure the first aid kit is up to any emergency and fully replenished.

Once you’re sure everything inside is in top shape, give the whole thing a deep clean. Any dirt and grime that’s built up under the RV needs to be cleaned; a high pressured hose should loosen any stubborn mud and dirt. It’s hard to spot any potential holes, leaks or problems if your entire vehicle is caked in mud. Once the outside is spotless, move inside and remove any unnecessary accumulations from the past year, although not a potential hazard, any excess weight is going to add to your weight and fuel consumption.

Once it’s looking as shiny and clean as a show room model, open all the doors and windows; let the whole thing air, especially if you’ve been using any potent chemicals inside.

Check the tires

Your tires work a lot harder than any car tire, they may not do as many miles, but they have a lot of weight to move around so they should be checked regularly. Your owner manual will advise what your tire pressure should be. Remember, over inflated tires are not going to grip the road as well and under inflated tires are going to consume more fuel. If your RV has been stood still all winter, it’s very important you check them thoroughly for cracks. Make sure they’re clean and have plenty of thread left; any spare tires should not be exempt from this inspection. If you’re in any doubt, replace them. We have some beautiful and remote countryside but it’s not so enjoyable if you have to deal with a blowout.

Wipers & windscreen

Just like the tires, these are simple things to check and can save a lot of inconvenience if something goes wrong with them later on. Any chips on a windscreen need to be fixed ASAP, most insurance companies can fix this without damaging your premium, they wont replace the whole RV windscreen for free, especially if you ignored that tiny chip. Again, April showers and summer thunder storms are not the ideal time to find out your motorhome windscreen wipers don’t actually wipe the windscreen anymore. If they’ve not been used for a while, like the tires, check the rubber isn’t cracked and that they clear the windscreen. Any reputable RV dealer will be able to recommend a service centre which specialises in RV’s who can fix and windscreen problems.

Under the bonnet

It’s always best to get your RV serviced at a reputable RV service shop, if this isn’t feasible give the basics a good check the same way you would with a car.

When oil sits for too long, it can separate which causes condensation, condensation in your engine means water touching metal which can cause rust. Drain any old oil out and replace it with fresh oil.

Take a wire brush and give the battery a good clean, baking soda mixed with the water can help negate any irritable affects of the acid, if the battery is too corroded, your engine will have a hard time starting. If your battery requires it, top it up with some distilled water; tap water can have too many minerals.

Paper work

Lastly, before you head off to enjoy the sunshine, give your insurance and breakdown policy a quick once over, if any of your circumstances have changed you may need to amend your policy, have you moved house since you took the cover out? Is your breakdown still valid?

If you are anything like me, and for your sake, I hope you are not—when you want something, you don’t always take the time to think things through and get the best possible product. For some reason this seems especially true when dealing with items that are very costly, which makes that instant gratification habit doubly worse. Today I want to discuss some steps to take when purchasing a motorcycle.

Sure, it would be cool to buy the biggest baddest bike on the block, but you will be much better off if you can display a little patience, which in the long run could save you some trouble and lots of money.

Research

First, you need to decide which bike is the best for you. Figure out what you are going to use your motorcycle for—cruising on the road, taking on trails, going super fast, etc. Talk to someone knowledgeable and do some research online. Really try to narrow down your choices of the type of bike you want. One of the most important starting points is—what can you afford to pay? It’s vital to remember that insuring a motorcycle can be costly, particularly if you are young.

More Research

Getting the idea? Knowledge is power, and in this case, it’s the power to make a better decision. There is nothing worse than running out to get a motorcycle only to find that it’s too much for you to handle, has too much upkeep, you can’t afford it, etc. Look at the market. What benefits are offered by each brand, and more importantly, which benefits work for you the best. Find out all you can about the models you are interested in, visit online forums, read reviews, and by all means don’t be afraid to ask the dealer questions. Make sure you get what you want—if the bike you want isn’t available, go somewhere else to find it, or wait until it becomes available. Take it for a test ride, see how you feel while riding, is it easy for you to handle? Does it fit you?

Go with Your Gut

Finally, after going through the data gathering stages, narrowing down your choices, and taking the bike for a test ride, if you feel a little odd about the bike, if something doesn’t feel quite right, allow yourself some time to think about it before you make the commitment to buy. Another bike will always come around, so you should never feel like you are being forced into anything.

The bottom line is make sure you get something that you want, and are happy with . . . it will make the riding experience that much better.

There is a lot of speculation in the minds of people while entering seized auto auctions. There is, however, only one mantra that one should remember in order to get the best out of their auctions- prepare as much as you can, before you enter an auction site. It is suggested that one should have a predefined plan much before entering into the actual auction site. This not only ensures that you don’t get confused while bidding the right amount on a deal, but also ensures that you do not get taken away by the hoards of options that one encounters during such auctions. Therefore, the first most important tip about attending such auctions is to have a defined set of specifications about what you intend to purchase- if you are looking to buy an SUV, then bid on SUVs only and not mini trucks or racing cars.

Making it to the auction site well before the actual commencement of auction starts, should be on top of your priority list. Doing this will leave you with sufficient time to pick and mark the vehicles that are of your interest. Having time on hands will also help you in ranking various models and vehicles on the site, according to your priority preferences. After ranking the vehicles, you can check their physical condition, tires, body paint, interiors etc. and then finally choose a few cars which you would actually like to bid on, during the auction. Besides, it is suggested that you double check the doors, hoods and trunk of the vehicle properly, because usually, if the cars were a part of a police pursuit, they would have massive dents in these sections. Doing this exercise will help you to assess the amount of money you would need to spend on repairs and hence, you bid should be made accordingly.

As a final tip, it is always better to have someone who is well versed in seized auto auctions, accompanying you. You should consider hiring a consultant for the same and not doing this might lead you into getting confused and ending up buying a car that you didn’t actually need. Besides, bidding should be done logically. There might be times when you would like to own a particular model and a number of other participants would also be bidding on it, thus raising the auction price. It is better to back off in such situations and prevent yourself from paying exponentially higher for such vehicles.
